Stuff a Cruiser and Drug Take Back Day with Protective Services

On Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., join Summa Health Protective Services for “Stuff a Cruiser and Drug Take Back Day” at:

  • Summa Health Hudson Wellness Center, 5625 Hudson Drive, Hudson
  • Buehler’s Fresh Foods, 3626 Medina Road, Medina

Protective Services will accept non-perishable donations such as canned goods and boxed food items to help feed the hungry. Monetary donations will also be accepted for your convenience. All food items as well as cash donations will be donated back to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.

Summa Health Police also will take and unused or unwanted prescriptions and dispose those medications properly for you, absolutely free of charge.

What to Do:

  • Come by on April 27 with your nonperishable food items and unwanted prescription drugs.

Support the Greater Akron Heart Walk

Help Patient Access and the American Heart Association by supporting the Greater Akron Heart Walk. To make a donation, visit the Central Lounge from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, now until September 9. Donations of $1 to $10 get a Red Heart, $10 to $20 get a Gold Heart, and $20 & up receive a Silver Heart. Hang a heart and together we all will help keep Hearts Pumping.

What to Do:
Go to the Central Lounge on the first floor of Akron Campus to make a donation.

Rape Crisis Center Walk of Heroes

The Rape Crisis Center of Summit and Medina Counties Walk of Heroes will take place on Friday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at the University of Akron Field House. Come as you are, dress as your favorite super hero, wear your favorite pair of shoes – JOIN US to end sexual violence and empower survivors.

What to Do:

Good Friday Service

All are welcome to a Good Friday service being held at the Kohl Family YMCA on Friday, April 19, 2019, at 8 a.m. Rev. Ron Shultz from Family of Faith Methodist Church will be the featured speaker. A continental breakfast will be served following the service.

What to Do:

  • RSVP to the YMCA at 330.434.9622.

Louis Partridge Retirement

Louis Partridge of Summa Health Food & Nutrition is retiring with 30 years of service. His last day is tomorrow, Friday, April 12, 2019.

What to Do:
Please stop by the café on Friday, April 12, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to wish Louis good luck and happy retirement.
