Volunteer for Akron Reads

Akron Reads is a community tutoring partnership which pairs a second grade student with a volunteer who will read with them. During the 2019-2020 school year, Summa Health is collaborating with Forest Hill Elementary School in the Akron Reads Program. The time commitment is one hour every other week from the end of October through May. The deadline to sign up is Friday, October 11.

Medina Truck or Treat

Volunteers are needed to help with Summa’s second annual Truck or Treat event on Sunday, October 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Summa Health Medina Medical Center. This is a free family-friendly event. Help is needed passing out cider samples from Geig’s Orchard, running the photo booth, manning a raffle table and more.

Women’s Board Annual Fall Membership Drive

Join the Women’s Board of Summa Health System during the Annual Fall Membership Drive from October 1 through November 15, 2019.

  • Be part of a dynamic group of women who help make a di¬fference for the patients and families of Summa Health through philanthropy, outreach, and service
  • Build friendships with others and discover your true leadership potential
  • Participate in fundraisers and special events for a great cause

Middlebury Neighborhood Revitalization

As part of Summa Health’s Middlebury Neighborhood Revitalization efforts, our community partner The Well is requesting volunteers to work on Middlebury homes and construct the Community Tool Library on Friday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
